However

Forty years ago, the Israeli military - with cold blooded calculation - murdered US sailors at sea in an unarmed ship also called "the dignity".

Then crooked president Lyndon Johnson helped them cover it up.

Probably less than one American 1 of 10,000 knows the story.

You can thank the news media for that and the Congress and the military brass which followed Johnson's orders, sat back and did nothing while its own men were slaughtered in broad daylight.

The plan was to kill every sailor on board and sink the ship.
It's only because of the astonishing survival of some of the crew that we know what happened.

Actually, it was the "USS Liberty" that LBJ wanted at the bottom of the sea to justify a nuclear attack against Egypt, because of Nasser and the Suez canal, according to the BBC documentary:
"Dead in the Water".
The Israelis attacked it first with rockets and machine gun fire from Mirage III fighters, painted black to hide their provenance, then with 3 warships who fired 2 torpedoes, one of which holed the ship.

It was, in fact, a Russian ship which came to investigate and then escorted the crippled Liberty into port.
