Seven terrorists were British, claims Indian government

SEVEN of the Mumbai terrorists were British Pakistanis, Indian government sources claimed last night.

Insiders said two Brits had been arrested and another five suspects were from the UK.

Two of the seven are from Leeds, one is from Bradford and one is from Hartlepool, it was alleged.

Sources claim the Hartlepool suspect was found in the Taj Mahal Palace hotel, where gunmen massacred dozens of guests.

The man from Bradford and one of the men from Leeds were allegedly discovered on the 17th floor of the Trident-Oberoi Hotel.

The second Leeds man was said to have been captured near a jetty after the 25-strong terror gang landed by speedboat.

Documents found on the suspects confirmed they were British, the sources said.

Other reports said Indian officials checked Blackberry phones used by the gang to follow news reports and found "a lot of content" linked to the UK.

The Foreign Office and MI6 were last night trying to establish the facts.

Government sources stressed that there had been no confirmation from India that British terrorists were involved.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown said his Indian counterpart had not told him about UK suspects. But he said it would be "premature" to draw any conclusions.

Pappu Mishra was tending to his customers at his glass-walled cafe at the gothic Victorian Chattrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station in Mumbai when he spotted two sprightly young men dressed in black.

He remembers the two sauntering into the waiting hall, plonking their handbags on the floor, taking out a gun "which looked like an AK-47", and walking toward the platforms where they gunned down late-evening commuters on the city's busy suburban train network.

"Their audaciousness was breath-taking," he says.

"One man loaded the magazine into the gun, the other kept shooting. They appeared calm and composed. They were not in the slightest hurry. They didn't seem to be afraid at all."

The men entered a platform and shot a man near an automated teller machine.

Then they turned around and shot another commuter at the grubby, dark-tiled drinking water station around the corner.

Then, the "foreign looking, fair skinned" men, as Mr Mishra remembers them, simply carried on killing.

Outside the station, shipping firm executive Anil Kumar Goswami was sitting in a tea shop. He saw flashes of gunfire through the rusty ornamental iron and brass railings and wood carved windows.


Bodies with gaping bullet wounds lay all over, and the waiting hall became a sea of blood.

He walked towards one of the gates to find out what was happening.

"As I entered the station, a shot rang out and I ducked. I lay on the floor and watched a horror film unfold," he says.

"I saw a man falling to gunfire. I saw one of the shooters walking across the platform. It was a festival of dead bodies."

British authorities checking reports of Britons involved in Mumbai terror attack

UK security agencies are investigating reports of British Muslims being among the terrorists who carried out the attacks in Mumbai.

Indian government sources have revealed that evidence has been found linking two of the terrorists to the UK.

The Maharashtra state chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh told The Associated Press that two British-born Pakistanis were among the terrorists.

NDTV, a local television news channel, also claimed that the terrorists included "British citizens of Pakistani origin."

Other reports Saturday said that as many as seven of the terrorists had been British.

TMI, the first article I posted was from the Scottish Daily Record, which was at one time considered a Scottish newspaper for the working classes.
Posting this information has nothing to do with me being racsist, which I hope I am not, but to show that there might be an agenda afoot to start blaming British Muslims for their part in these events to use as a psychological tool in an attempt to persuade the British people that British Muslims are all bad and cannot be trusted.
Another reason for posting this information is to see how things might progress, we can then add and point out other misinformation that the media might be trying to feed us.
You are more than welcome to add anything you find that points in the direction of pinning the blame on British Muslims by the UK mainstream media, and I hope you do.
Oh, and btw, the second link I provided from the BBC was to show that light skinned people may have been involved, which then begs the question, who is really behind these attacks.
