This is a good link, but hard to classify within existing topics. I plan to add it to my favorites.

I still think it's early for all hell to break loose, but not so sure that I'm not planning on hoarding some food and buying a couple of guns. I noticed a link on reloading 410 shells. Just out of curiousity Knight, what gauge would you recommend? I'm thinking of a 22 rifle since ammo is cheap and you could carry lots of it on you and a shotgun. If my wife had to use a shotgun I wonder if a 12 gauge is too much.

A 410 is what i would recommend for a woman or young adult, also 22's are a must, cheap ammo and no kick.

If you get a 410 also get a 303 british as you can reload the 303 shell to a 410 easily, the article is in the link.

With a 410 the person doesn't have to be as accurate , just point in general area and pull, better chance of hitting a moving target with shotgun then pistol, unless you are very trained. The 410 has no kick and is not scary too shoot for woman and young adults, while a 12 guage has a good kick and can be heavier and more intimidating for the smaller shooters

I have been leaning that direction. A 410 and 22 would be about right. If my son stays around and I'm thinking it would be a good idea for him to do that, a 12 gauge might be good for him.

pump as it is least likely to break, single shots are the most reliable, but are limited for firepower, so I would choose a pump. 870remington would be my first choice as they are solid and functional.
