For those who are not aware, this is a continuation of a many month long debate on "A Cynic’s Guide To 9/11 Conspiracy Theories" where I asked Paul and Ashley to take it to the forum because comments were not publishing correctly. I'm leaving this on the front page for a short while to give Ashley a chance to see it, then it will be moved to the Fringe board.

Expect a lot of flaming

Even with that said, Paul & Ashley, please respect each other and stick to the facts without resorting to personal attacks guys. Thanks and good luck.

After working in steel construction and fabrication for 30 years, I know the truthers and conspiracy theorists were gullible and leading the more gullible into believing what amounts to utter gibberish. maybe they should have taken more notice in school metalwork class.

"Eventually, a girder on Floor 13 lost its connection to a critical column, Column 79, that provided support for the long floor spans on the east side of the building (see Diagram 1). The displaced girder and other local fire-induced damage caused Floor 13 to collapse, beginning a cascade of floor failures down to the 5th floor. Many of these floors had already been at least partially weakened by the fires in the vicinity of Column 79. This collapse of floors left Column 79 insufficiently supported in the east-west direction over nine stories.
The unsupported Column 79 then buckled and triggered an upward progression of floor system failures that reached the building’s east penthouse. What followed in rapid succession was a series of structural failures"

May I ask how NIST report came about with it's findings, for example how did they know a girder on Floor 13 lost its connection to a critical column, Column 79?
Surely, if the fires had become so hot to cause this to happen, then there would not be anybody there to see it happening.

Default Personal attacks? Moi?

Mick

I do try and stick to the facts, Mick, that's what this nonsesne is all about...and as for personal attacks on Ashley, aw, come on, he's a big boy, and if he can suggest the pilots, engineers., etc. are all cowards, I think the odd name-call is acceptable.

There's a line where facts and opinions are being mixed, a lot of this debate is made up of theories, what if and maybe's but where I stand on the issue doesn't matter so much as the conduct of posters on the forum.. the awesome moderation team have free run and decide what's acceptable and what isn't. Some ain't as lenient as me, and that's a good thing.

Default Dear Mick

"a lot of this debate is made up of theories, what if and maybe's..."
Mick

Prey tell, from whom?

The towers were not blown up...a theory?
The planes were hijacked by terrorists...a theory?
Confusion reigned with the Air Traffic Controllers...a theory?
A plane was flown into the Pentagon....a theory?
A plane crashed at Shanksville...a theory?
WTC7 was not brought down with explosives...a theory?
The hijackers had just enough skill to complete their job...a theory?

Do you want me to continue, or do you get the drift?

Okay, I admit that 'Ashley is an idiot' is a theory...but it's a good 'un!

Smile Beavis & Buthead

Yeah, it was 19 Muslims controlled by a bad guy in a cave who did 911, cos there was a singed passport and bananas and other planted evidence which could not have survived the incineration massive fireball.

Yeah, it was 19 Muslims because the RACIST CIA & FBI says so. They have so much evidence they can't Indite Osmar Binladen, he is only still a suspect some 7 years on - that's how sneaky these Muslims were, they not only outsmarted NATO & the NORAD 4 times by switching off the transponders, but also the CIA & FBI too.

Its a good Job Paul W can work it all out.
