But, seriously, capitalism is in catastrophic melt-down. All the things we have been told are impossible, like nationalisation of the major banks, are suddenly rational and normal. It seems that capitalism cannot possibly nationalise profits, but it is certainly willing to share its debts with the public sector!!
Even the Tories, shamelessly bankrolled by hedge funds and speculators, feel they have to criticise the City, whose profits have kept them in jollies for decades.
Papers like the Financial Times, the paper most likely to tell the truth to the real rulers of capitalism, are agreeing that Karl Marx was right and that the Recession will last a lot longer than politicians will admit.
The ruling class would like us to pay for their crisis. We did not make dodgy, speculative loans. We did not flog them on to dubious finance companies, internationalising the crisis; and we did not pay out millions of dollars in shares that we didn’t really have. Yet our homes, our jobs and our pensions are at risk! How can we defend our rights and jobs? Come and discuss the options!
