Flakes in Space

[Nostalgia]

Check out this video of the Chinese space walk, at 3 minutes 4 seconds of the video you will see something rise suddenly from the helmet of the astronaut on the right, then at 3 minutes 57 seconds you will see another thing rise suddenly from the hatch of the spaceship.
If these objects were flakes of paint or something like that, would they rise as rapidly in space as these things, or would they just float away?
