MEDIA, Pa. -- With Sarah Palin in a red leather jacket and American Chopper dude Paul Teutul on stage, the McCain campaign took on a
vibe a rally at the courthouse square here.
Palin introduced Teutul -- founder of the Orange County Choppers and the host, with his sons, of American Chopper on the TLC channel -- as he rode onstage on a white chopper, a type of motorcycle, dedicated to POW-MIAs.
Teutul noted McCain's years in a Vietnamese prison.
"How many people out there love their country and the military?'' asked Teutul, dressed in a black sleeveless T-shirt that showed off his heavily tattooed arms.
The campaign said Orange County Choppers wanted to present the bike
(see picture here) to McCain to commemorate his service, but will keep it to display at memorials and "support our troops" events as a tribute to veterans.
McCain last month was the star at a bikers gathering in Sturgis, S.D., where he made fun of Democratic rival Barack Obama's European tour. "As you may know, not long ago a couple hundred thousand Berliners made a lot of noise for my opponent,'' McCain said. "I'll take the roar of 50,000 Harleys any day."
Today, McCain called the white chopper "marvelous.''
"Sarah and I are going to get on that chopper and ride it right to Washington,'' he said.
