crime is relative, more distinctions are needed to make an assumption.

For instance, if someone close to you was brutally murdered, tortured, raped etc. by someone for no reason, and there was no shadow of a doubt that the right person had been identified for the crime, then what would you do?

If your brother hatched a plan to kidnap this person and do whatever in revenge, would you help your brother then?

Let's go even further into the ethical. If your family had no food, and your brother were going to steal food so that your children could eat, (a la Les Mis) would you help him? Would you not help him do it, but still eat the food that he took?

If I knew beforehand I would do everything to discourage, even go to the point of playing on his emotions, like bringing up his loved ones.
