Six more charged by terror police
Five men and one youth have been charged in connection with a police operation targeting an alleged network of terrorist recruiters.
A total of 10 people have now been charged following a raid on a Chinese restaurant in Borough, south London.
The six are due to appear before City of Westminster magistrates on Thursday.
The charges relate to training people to use weapons for terrorism, incitement to murder and possessing material useful for terrorism.
The six charged are all from London.
They are Muhammad Al-Figari, 42, Atilla Ahmet, 42, Kadar Ahmed, 19, Moussa Brown, 40, Saloum Joh, 21, and a 17-year-old youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
‘Weapon training’
The overnight raids in London on 1 September led to 14 arrests, including 12 at The Bridge to China Town restaurant in Borough.
Two people have since been released and two remain in custody.
Four other men arrested at the restaurant appeared in Westminster Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
One of those men was Yassin Mutegombwa, 22, from south London, who is charged with receiving training in the use of weapons, in Hampshire and Berkshire.
Mr Mutegombwa’s brother, Hassan, 20, Musa Akmet, 47, and Mustafa Abdullah, 24, were charged with other offences under the Terrorism Act.
The four were remanded in custody.
