Is the GOP Falling Apart?
Justin Oldham
As we go to the polls on November 7th, we’ll have a lot to think about. The truth is that we face a lot of uncertainty. Are we about to see more vote fraud? Are we about to see the Republicans slip back in to obscurity? the answer to both of these questions would seem to be “yes.”
Both our major political parties have made it quite clear that they won’t stop at low-level vote rigging. The national scandals that boiled over in the wake of the 2004 elections proved to them that there simply aren’t enough of us who object to be a credible force that could stop them from doing it again.
Recent scandals which have adversely affected the Republican party were never hard to predict. Anyone with a pulse could see what was coming by late 1998. The stage now seems set for the fragmentation of the Republican party. The rise of Federalist forces to a position of ultimate power now seems to be more than certain. It’s on track to be the most harsh and unfair fact of our lifetime.
When the Republicans fall from power, they’ll be taking with them a time-honored Anti-Federalist idea that is strange and unfamiliar to the youth of today. If we’re lucky, the Dems won’t be able to handle the total and absolute authority they so desperately covet. As their empire shakes and wobbles, we may yet be able to re-ignite the torch of Anti-Federalism.
For the time being, we are still blessed with the opportunity to use ballots instead of bullets. For now, we still have voices which can be heard…even if they can’t be understood by the confused contempory masses. We should not blame them for their apathy, or their disgust. They’ve been conditioned to it. We should remember that some of the people who did this to us in cold blood will soon be out of a job.
