British Passports Traded for Sex

By Carl Limbacher

The British immigration bureaucracy has fallen under a cloud of suspicion after a wave of reports in London’s tabloids alleged that passports and visas were being awarded to foreign women in exchange for sex.

According to the Sun newspaper, the sex-for-visas racket was being run out of Lunar House in Croydon, South London, which is the largest immigration center in Britain.

A former administrative officer at Lunar, Anthony Pamnani, claimed to the Sun that his colleagues boasted of granting immigration favors to attractive clients who were willing to reciprocate with sex.

“One girl came in and told us an admin officer had visited her flat and they slept together,” he complained. “She got indefinite leave to stay.”

The former employee also accused the Lunar Center of negligence, saying that in “many cases” passports were not checked to ensure immigrants had no previous convictions and were not wanted abroad.
“It was lazy because they only had to walk a few yards and swipe it through a computer reader,” Pamnani said.

The British Home Office has launched an investigation into Pamnani’s allegations.

Home Office minister, Tony McNulty, told London’s Guardian that while he had every confidence in the staff in the Immigration and Nationality Directorate; “until the outcome of that investigation is known, it would be inappropriate for me to comment further.”
