I was watching one of the police chase programs based in the UK a few weeks ago, the helicopter was chasing a stolen car and the operator in the helicopter claimed that all they needed to do was switch on the tracking box of the stolen car and just follow it wherever it went. Do not be fooled into thinking that the so called technology of the future is not already being used, your car, if fairly new may already have one of these devices. These boxes may have been installed for a while.
