I see a lot of hesitancy on the part of the world's leadership to really address the environmental and economic problems. I assume it to be because there's not enough time to significantly effect either the environment or the economy to any apparent degree. Perhaps it is more prudent to assume that losses are inevitable, and that what we should be doing is engineering our environment to sustain us, and our living standards, in a situation where the the biosphere is more hostile to us than it is currently. I do not feel that we can realistically go on not preparing for the worst insisting that we'll always have enough time. As for the economy, we should as a world, just absolve all debt and start over. It's all trust anyways. why not?
