Publish YOUR News on RINF

January 26, 2008 7

RINF visitors are invited to contribute their own news reports to the web site.

The process is simple, create an account here:

http://rinf.com/alt-news/wp-login.php?action=register

Then log in and publish your story here:

http://rinf.com/alt-news/wp-login.php

Quality control will be in operation to remove inappropriate content.

This will also replace the RINF blogs, allowing members to publish directly onto the main newswire.

Have fun : )

Thanks. It's a bit tough keeping track of all comments but I'll be keeping an eye on this page incase there's any problems or somebody needs help.

A couple of quick question.. Posting news is easy but I don't understand some things.

What's the difference between 'Save' and 'Publish'?

    What are 'Tags'?

    What is 'RS Event'?

    What are 'Custom Fields'?

    Thanks for your help.

    Striker,

Save allows you to save a work in progress while publish allows you to send it for live publication on the site.

The rest are advanced functions which you do not need to use.

But if you want to use them you can:

Tags are sub-sections of the site which you can send posts to.

RS Event is an events management system, enter in the time, date and some infomation about your event and hit publish. It will then appear in the events section.

Custom Fields are for custom scripts, for example if you want to link directly to a web page on another site, without creating a RINF page (so the headline in the newswire links eleswhere) this is the place to do that.

    Hope this helps.

How long does it take before we see our posts on the site?

  • Mick Meaney

Dave, all posts will be reviewed before publication, this can take anywhere between a couple of minutes to a couple of hours depending on how busy the newswire is.
