Wat is a 'Medicone'?

As much as some random chemical can help man then so can Mary Jane under certain circumstance. It's no panacea but it is by far more fun than aspirin :)

Hi David, i really think you are nit picking over the issue about the provenance of the quote about ecstasy vs equine sports people. All you had to do was click on the link to find out ! It does not discredit the article it was a simple mistake. Also there is no need to shout using capitals as tho the reader is not intelligent enough to work out what is important. I thought the article was well written and accurate but you seem to have chosen to ignore the main points. There are some experiments with mice that were shown on the weed programme but these have not been corroborated and dont forget: we are not mice ! It makes sense anyway not to give drugs to young people, i dont think anyone would argue against that.

"Runciman has a history of being behind liberalisation."
- Shock, horror, she's not one of those "freedom-lovers", is she?
"Thirdly there is current evidence of early cannabis use making the brain more vulnerable to the effects of other drugs."
- It's not a chemical reason, though, it's because cannabis is illegal so you need to get it from a dealer. Hence you have a link to other drugs.

I believe that any such drug taken regularly before the user matures cannot be doing the growing brain any good. So take it off the streets and legalise so there are no illegal dealers to sell to kids.

There's plenty of evidence that suggests cannabis is a medicone.

Very poor reporting (on the drugs issues at least). Smith was commenting on a PRIVATE article by Profeessor Nutt in the Journal of Psychophrmacology, not on the ACMD report. Secondly the UKDPC is assuredly NOT an "Independent Group". It is drug liberalising/legalising pressure group run by Ruth Runciman and Roger Howard. When Howard ran DrugScope, elements there were organising the European drug legalisation movement. Runciman has a history of being behind liberalisation. Thirdly there is current evidence of early cannabis use making the brain more vulnerable to the effects of other drugs.
